Guatemalan Buffet Lunch

Lima, June 2019.- Delfines Hotel & Convention Center, together with the Guatemalan Embassy in Peru, is organizing the Guatemalan food festival for the first time in Lima, with the participation of Ambassador Verónica Araujo and renowned chef Carlos Cruz, who along with her team formed by Leonardo de León and Eduardo Santizo, promises to delight nationals and foreigners with their best dishes.
From Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 June, the facilities of the modern Delphos Bistró will host all the culinary culture of Guatemala. All attendees can enjoy traditional dishes such as pepián, beef broth, banana in moles, kak'ik, beans with pork rinds, chuchitos and many other specialties chapinas.
Guatemalan food is a fusion with much influence of the Maya (the indigenous culture that predominated in what is now known as Mexico and Guatemala and the Spanish colonizers who added condiments, preparation techniques and other fruits that added both worlds. like corn, beans and seeds, are very important in Guatemalan cuisine because of its tradition.
Additionally, the Guatemalan artisan Esther Serech, originally from the department of Comalapa, Chimaltenango, will exhibit her handmade products such as tablecloths, sashes, table centers, scarves, bags and typical costumes. The professional weaver currently runs a weavers education center, with girls from 8 to 15 years old in order to continue the tradition and show the culture and crafts of Guatemala.
